Head of Engineering – Europe and Africa

Job Details

Our client is an globally established leading EPC – They are currently looking to add an experienced Head of Engineering with a background in PV design and management of teams during the project cycle that can add value and help grow their already wide and outstanding market presence. This is an excellent opportunity for a senior solar engineering professional to join a dynamic and rapidly growing business. You will take responsibility for a PV portfolio of almost 2GW and a team of engineers working on some of the most exciting projects in the world.

 

Responsibilities

  • Take a management role overseeing a team of PV designers
  • Understand the relationship between designs and overall profitability
  • Make sure that the PV engineers are adhering to contractual requirements within the design work
  • Supervise design plans and ensure they are done to company standards
  • Hire and monitor a team of engineers as required, ensuring they meet the standards of the business
  • Liaise with stakeholders and keep them informed
  • Ensure engineers under management are informed of health and safety protocols and adhere to them
  • Be wary for any potential pitfalls, and equipped to troubleshoot them as and when required
  • Chart progress of the project and monitor any defects, then rectify them

 

Education

  • Bachelor degree or equivalent in Engineering (or equivalent qualification)
  • Electrical Engineering is desirable

 

Relevant Skills

  • At least 5 years experience within project management/PV design
  • EPC/IPP experience is desirable
  • English – Verbal and Written
  • Solar experience is essential
  • Management experience is essential
  • Experience with PV projects exceeding 15MW is desirable
