Solar PV Legal Counsel

Job Details

We are working with an exciting developer of Utility Scale PV (photovoltaic) projects that are growing aggressively across multiple European markets. They are currently looking for an experienced Legal Professional to take charge of their ongoing Utility-Scale, Solar PV (photovoltaic) project pipeline across Italy in their Global HQ.

Given their success and the level of investment that they have received so far, they have an extensive pipeline of projects and is an exciting opportunity for a highly ambitious Legal Counsel not only from a scope of work perspective but also from a company view as you will be responsible for advising all the project teams when it comes to any legal issues surrounding the development of large projects.

The ideal individual would have a comprehensive understanding of the Italian Solar PV market to leverage upon. This is an excellent opportunity to join a fast-paced and dynamic leader, to work in a highly autonomous position where you will be able to contribute to an impressive project pipeline.

Responsibilities
• To aid the company when it comes to any legal affairs across Italy (and other EMEA jurisdictions when required)
• Focusing on any project development and documentation issues as well as advising the company when it comes to any claims including EPC, O&M, AMA, consortium and partnership agreements.
• To stay informed regarding applicable legal framework and regulations specific to the Solar PV industry across Italy.
• Close coordination with regulatory authorities, customers, counterparties, and other colleagues
• To guarantee the compliance with EMEA regulatory legal framework
• To aid in the development of company guidelines, operating procedures and documentation templates used by the company.
• Providing legal advice regarding project development, project finance, credit facility agreements, ancillary finance documentation as well as general corporate housekeeping.
• To draft and negotiate a range of contracts and documentation to support the operational goals of the company and its objectives.

Education
Law degree from an accredited school of law, qualified in Italy

Relevant Experience
• 3-5 years post qualified experience working inside either a top-tier law firm or an energy developer
• Solid experience in real estate matters and permitting for energy projects across Italy
• Experience in the PV project sector is preferred
• Must be able to communicate effectively both written and verbally in Italian and English, including drafting and negotiating contracts – any additional languages are a plus.
